SERVICES

01.

MATERNITY

Maternity services can start as soon as you know you are pregnant (as early as 8-10 weeks) and last up to 6 weeks after birth. Visits are scheduled with plenty of time, so you can ask questions and get to know your care team. We'll provide ongoing education in health and nutrition and what to expect in the coming weeks. After labor and delivery, we'll do in-home postpartum checkups to assess your physical recovery and emotional well-being. We'll also be able to address any breastfeeding concerns and monitor your newborn's health and weight gain.

02.

HOMEBIRTH

Your baby's birth is special to us! We partner with you to ensure a safe, minimal-intervention natural birth from the comfort of your home. Eat, drink, rest and birth in any position. We'll monitor your vital signs and listen to your baby using a handheld device, so you can labor in the best way for you. After delivery, we ensure you will have immediate skin-to-skin contact with your newborn, optimal cord clamping, and early breastfeeding.

03.

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Well-woman exams are your first line of defense against diseases of the female reproductive system. As part of our well-woman exams, we include pap smears, breast exams (referrals for mammograms), minor gynecological concerns, screening for and treating sexually transmitted infections, family planning, contraception, preconception counseling, and health and wellness education. We provide these exams annually for women of all ages: teens, childbearing, peri-menopausal and menopausal.

Take Charge of Your Health

The average birth experience leaves a lot to be desired…

✗ Impersonal, rushed appointments where you feel like just another number
✗ Lack of education surrounding your health and the development of your baby
✗ A disregard for your birth plan and desire to avoid intervention
✗ Feeling disrespected or invalidated for seeking pain management alternatives
✗ Limiting food, water, and movement during labor and delivery

WITH WABASH VALLEY MIDWIVES IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY!

Midwifery care is a PARTNERSHIP between a woman and her care provider.

At Wabash Valley Midwives, we know you want to take charge of your health - that it's your right and responsibility to educate yourself regarding all aspects of your healthcare. YOU are the primary decision-maker.

You need a care team that partners with you for this to happen. The problem is that most conventional medical models are restrictive and don’t allow time for a personalized experience, which makes you feel invisible. As midwives, we are here to give you that personalized time, and partner with you as YOU give birth. We understand how frustrating it is to feel rushed with the decisions you are making about your child and your body - we’re here to change that.

Book your free consultation to get started, we’ll meet in person and get to know each other, then begin your care right away - so you can start taking charge of your health.
